The Rev. Dr. Bruce R. Grob joined FreshMinistries in 1994. Dr. Grob assisted Dr. Lee in growing the young ministry which soon outgrew the garage office in Dr. Lee’s home and was relocated into the Springfield community, the neighborhood its initiatives were originally designed to serve. Dr. Grob’s faith, hope and optimism, combined with his extensive development and nonprofit advancement background, have proven to be essential ingredients in the success of FreshMinistries’ social and economic restoration programs. Dr. Grob also serves as Vice-Chairman of FreshMinistries.
In 2003, Dr. Grob formally answered his calling into the ministry and was ordained as an Episcopal priest. In 2005 he assumed leadership of FreshMinistries’ overseas HIV/AIDS program, Siyafundisa, as Executive Director. Dr. Grob has worked with HIV/AIDS patients and educational programs throughout his career and now brings his expertise on the disease and fighting its many stigmas to Siyafundisa’s five year $10 million youth education effort aimed at eradicating HIV and AIDS in Southern Africa.
In addition to serving as Executive Director of Siyafundisa, Dr. Grob is a graduate of Drew University (BA, Ph.D.) with an Master’s of Divinity from Yale University. Dr. Grob was an assistant professor of Religion and Ethics at Drew, teaching courses in Religion, Social and Biomedical Ethics. Dr. Grob studied theology at Oxford University and has been an advisor to the banking and health care industries on questions pertaining to business, management and biomedical ethics.
Prior to his move to FreshMinistries in 1994, he was Vice President for Advancement at The Bolles School in Jacksonville. Dr. Grob has served on several boards, and currently serves on the board of The Outdoor Adacemy of North Carolina. He has taught Social Ethics and Religion at University of North Florida as an Adjunct Professor and has served as a priest associate at All Saints Episcopal Church.
