Beaver Street Enterprise Center celebrates a fabulous 2007

Beaver Street Enterprise Center, the states only core-city business incubator, celebrated its 4th anniversary this June. Highlights from a very successful 2007 include the promotion of Ms. Jackie Perry to Executive Director, a visit from Governor Charlie Crist and Representative Jennifer Carroll, hundreds of mentoring hours by local business professionals, and more.

In 2007 Beaver Street Enterprise Center:

• Created 160 jobs
• Helped incubator clients reach a collective revenue of $4 million
• Houses 24 active tenant clients
• Received Jacksonville Business Journal’s 2007 Inspiration Award
• Was nominated NBIA’s 2007 Incubator of the Year in the Service and Manufacturing Category
• Hosted a tour and press event with Governor Charlie Crist and State Representative Jennifer Carroll
• Hosted over 10,000 visitors
• Sponsored over 800 mentoring and training hours for tenants
• Successfully launched the International Trade Program Export Series in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Center, JaxPort and UNF’s Small Business Development Center
• Two tenants awarded micro-loans from Beaver Street’s Small Business Development Loan Fund
