Comcast funding Resource Center in 2008

FreshMinistries’ East Jacksonville Neighborhood Resource Center recently received a generous grant from Comcast. The $25,000 grant will help fund the Resource Center’s community outreach and service programs in the low-income lower east Jacksonville community in 2008. The Neighborhood Resource Center direct connects individuals in need and living in crisis with the many existing community, civic and social organizations that are able to assist the individual’s immediate needs. The Resource Center also houses community meetings, after school programs, adult and family education classes, and offers neighbors access to computers and social service workers to assist neighbors with job searches, preparation of resumes and applications for social services on-line.

“Comcast is a remarkable community partner. In addition to their generous support of lower east Jacksonville through its grant to the East Jacksonville Neighborhood Resource Center, Comcast also supports our free adult education program, Jacksonville Hospitality Institute,” says Mary Langowski, President of FreshMinistries. “They are focused and commited to improving people’s lives. We are proud they have chosen to partner with FreshMinistries.”
