Jacksonville Hospitality Institute names new Director

FreshMinistries has appointed Todd Jones Director of its Jacksonville Hospitality Institute (JHI). Jones, originally from Philadelphia, PA, brings over 14 years of hospitality and hospitality training experience to JHI, FreshMinistries’ newest economic development and vocational training initiative.

Jones began his career in the hospitality industry in 1991 while serving as a front desk clerk for Holiday Inn while obtaining his Business Management degree from Montgomery County College. His career has taken him from the front desk of the Holiday Inn to the Showboat Casino/Hotel in Atlantic City and into management with the Embassy Suites in Philadelphia.

While in Philadelphia, Jones was hired by OIC, the training institute on which FreshMinistries’s Jacksonville Hospitality Institute is modeled. Jones served as the Life Skills Instructor for OIC until 1999 when he returned to hospitality management as part of the “opening team” for the Loews Philadelphia Hotel as Assistant Director of Human Resources.

Jones will oversee all aspects of JHI, which will begin offering free job skills training to unemployed and under-employed people interested in acquiring the hands-on training needed to secure employment in the hospitality field, in November 2006.

The Jacksonville Hospitality Institute is located in the Beaver Street Enterprise Center, 1225 West Beaver Street in Jacksonville, Florida. JHI partners include FreshMinistries, Comcast, WorkSource and Hyatt.
