FreshMinistries works toward HIV/AIDS initiative in Caribbean
FreshMinistries, in partnership with USAID and the Anglican Province of Southern Africa, is using a $10 million grant to combat HIV/AIDS in Namibia, South Africa, and Mozambique. “We have now begun, in partnership with United States ambassadors, USAID, and the Anglican Church in the Caribbean, to replicate in the Caribbean our work in Africa,” said the Rev. Dr. Bruce Grob, vice chairman of FreshMinistries, and executive director of the SIYAFUNDISA HIV/AIDS Project. “These projects make use of the existing Church infrastructure, providing training for clergy and laity in effectively combating HIV/AIDS through care of orphans and other vulnerable children, and delivering a program of testing, education, prevention, and breaking stigma. I’m happy to say it is working,” said Grob. In Nassau, U. S. Ambassador John D. Rood hosted a reception on April 24 for the Rev. Dr. Robert V. Lee III, chairman and CEO of FreshMinistries. Dr. Lee and Dr. Grob, with Bobby Polito, former White House faith-based director for Health and Human Services, were in Nassau to meet with the most Rev. Drexel |
