First IDA Graduate Purchases Home
Beverly Hall-Brown is the first of our 120-plus IDA participants to reach her savings goal and purchase a home. Beverly, a senior criminal justice major at Edward Waters College and her husband, John, owner of a small landscape service, took one year to reach their savings goal with the matching savings program. The Browns will move into their 3 bedroom single family “dream home” in April. FreshMinistries sponsors the IDA matched savings program as a way to help our core-city youth and their families reach savings goals of homeownership, college or trade school tuition or to start a business. By helping hard working, low-income individuals reach their goals we instill savings habits and financial discipline, pride and hope into their children and surrounding community.
