FreshMinistries Board of Trustees Member Linda King is Eve Award finalistLinda King, co-founder of Women to the Rescue, has been named an Eve Award finalist by the Florida Times-Union. The Eve Awards have been given annually since 1969 to three women who exemplify outstanding accomplishments in the community. The finalists will be named at the awards luncheon on June 2 at the Jacksonville Hyatt Regency Hotel. Suzanne Yack, the FreshMinistries staff person with whom Linda worked to establish the disaster relief grassroots project, said, “Linda is one of the most amazing community volunteers I have ever worked with. She is such an inspiration and her vision was the spark that became a movement that now is taking shape in communities across the state.” Linda has been on the FreshMinistries Board of Trustees for three years and has also been an organizer for events to promote small business entrepreneurs in the inner city with FreshMinistries’ Beaver Street Enterprise Center. She is member of the St. John’s River Alliance, the Republican Women of Duval County and the Governor’s Faith-Based Advisory Council.
