Eastside Neighborhood Association
According to Beverly Toney, director of the 6-Point Community Initiative, "People in the community still want to meet, and we want the community to continue to be engaged." Through partnerships with JSO, Jax Code Enforcement, Weed & Seed, Operation New Hope, HabiJax, Police Athletic League, and many other local groups, the ENA brings neighbors, non-profit organizations, churches and community activists together to build communities of hope. The goal is to break the cycle of poverty through the power of community: the power of education to open doors for youth scholarship opportunities and a future; the power of collaboration between neighborhoods and police to create safe streets; the power to eradicate drug dealers and gangs from the neighborhood through job training and employment opportunities; the power of home ownership to build community pride and family stability; and the power of health and hope to build community wellness.
