Resource Center hosts workshop for parentsThe East Jacksonville Neighborhood Resource Center hosted a workshop for parents in Northeast Jacksonville’s neighborhoods September 18, 2008, to help parents help their children.
"[The parents] enjoyed sharing their ideas about schools, how they are different, what they want their children to achieve and why it’s important to teach children more than just the FCAT test,” said Lula Brown, director of the Resource Center. "It was the first step to helping them see what they can do to make schools better for their children." |

The Resource Center’s parent liaisons, who visit the area’s schools weekly to work with parents, listened to parents’ concerns about the schools in the area and will share those concerns with the schools’ principals and at PTA meetings.
