CEY brings 37 Eastside youth to 'Night of Champions'

Michelle Hughes, director of FreshMinistries' Communities Empowering Youth initiative, and several community leaders brought 37 East Jacksonville youth to see Florida Gators football players Tim Tebow and Danny Wuerffel speak at the Fellowship of Christian Athlete's "Night of Champions" event at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena on May 8.

The event, intended to inspire children and young adults to "build a legacy worth leaving," also featured some of the Heismann-winning quarterbacks' family members as well as comedian Kenn Kington and sing/songwriter for the band Lonestar, Ritchie McDonald.

The speakers and performers emphasized determination, integrity and teamwork as important routes to success and building a legacy.

The tickets to the event were provided to FreshMinistries by John Behner of WISE Council.
