Residents of the Eastside community have been visiting the Eastside Resource Center's new permanent location at 616 A. Philip Randolph Boulevard in record numbers. This September the Center assisted 303 individuals setting monthly usage records for the number of visitors coming into the Center to participate in free life skills training sessions; using the computer lab for job searches, updating resumes and applying for social assistance services; and, using the phone and fax machines. Mr. Donell Neal, Director of the Eastside Resource Center, is pleased to be able to assist so many neighbors in need. Neal stated, "I am most encouraged in the number of men coming into the Center seeking assistance, asking questions on ways to improve their job skills and becoming involved in life skills training sessions. Usually it is the women, not the men, who actively seek assistance. This is a great trend and shows that the men living in Eastside are becoming more comfortable using the Center and taking advantage of its enrichment and assistance services."
