East Jacksonville Housing Alliance
The alliance’s goal was to build 30 homes on the lower Eastside during a three-year period but actually has built 41. The project has helped to stimulate the neighborhood economy through job creation on construction sites and bringing families into the community to support local eateries and businesses. LandMar, a major residential developer in Florida and active community partner, helped conceptualize and orchestrate the infrastructure improvements in the neighborhood, such as the paving of sidewalks, streetscape and burying power lines. FreshMinistries served as the master developer for the group. Now that the alliance has exceeded its goals and its agreement with the city of Jacksonville has ended, the housing alliance has morphed into the Eastside Neighborhood Alliance.

FreshMinistries brought together the East Jacksonville Housing Alliance in 2003 to build affordable housing in East Jacksonville, Florida, as outlined in the Neighborhood Action Plan approved by the Jacksonville City Council that year. The alliance identified a target area for the new housing in a neighborhood north of Alltel Stadium. In 2004, the alliance secured funding from the Jacksonville Housing Commission to assist in the purchase of vacant properties in the target area.
