Additionally, FreshMinistries operates a core-city Family Resource and Learning Center that helps core-city families easily “direct connect” to the mental health, physical health and financial aid services available to them. Internationally, FreshMinistries’ Siyafundisa HIV/AIDS initiative in Mozambique, South Africa and Namibia is currently working to help eradicate the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The 2 year old ecumenical program works through the well established Anglican Church’s infrastructure to educate and support the more than 13 million children orphaned by the HIV/AIDS virus on AIDS prevention and treatment options. Educational seminars and plays for youth and the training of hundreds of field workers and care givers has allowed the HIV/AIDS prevention message to reach thousands of children. Through our continued success, we are breaking the stigma associated with the disease that, in the past, has kept many from being properly tested and treated for the disease.

FreshMinistries was awarded and manages an EPA Grant that helps our core-city neighbors secure proper clean up and decontamination of old hazardous waste disposal sites located in their community through our Environmental Justice program. In addition, FreshMinistries works to educate residents on health issues and the medical services available to them should they show symptoms of exposure to the hazardous waste sites.
In the immediate future, FreshMinistries will begin addressing the need to expand the program into the Caribbean and other areas of the world suffering from the devastating HIV/AIDS disease.
