Strengthening Families

FreshMinistries partners with many worthwhile city and private organizations to strengthen and encourage positive family support and active parental and/or guardian participation in the daily lives of our core-city children. Strong home support, communication and adult encouragement are essential ingredients to a stable, safe environment in which children may grow and learn. With over 70% of the school children we serve in the lower east Jacksonville community in foster care at some point during their childhood, it is incredibly important that we work to promote strong, caring, adult centered families – even if these families do not represent your idea of a “traditional” family.

To assist the community and other partners working to strengthen families and promote stable home life for our children, FreshMinistries secured and funds a free community resource center, East Jacksonville Neighborhood Resource Center, to help parents and guardians easily “direct-connect” with the numerous community programs available to serve the mental health, physical health, and financial needs of their families.

For information on FreshMinistries’ Resource Center, please contact the Center’s director, Beverly Toney.
